While these photos are a composite of three separate and distinct projects, it allows you to see partial progression from tear-down to completion. These aircraft needed a substantial amount of work, literally hundreds of small projects addressed one at a time. Take the time to do it right, you'll be glad you did.........TB. 1) One ground-up restoration, that involved wing rebuild, new flaps and ailerons, rebuild of the tail feather, new control cables, wiring, instrument panel, side skins, tail skins, cabin roof, cowl, nose bowl, repair fuel tanks, new fuel filler necks and flush locking caps, left cabin door, left bagged door, belly basket, brakes, repaired wing struts, new cabane and drag struts and more. 2) One wing rebuild and windshield replacement that turned in a complete fuselage tear down due to substantial corrosion damage at the tail post and lower longerons and right forward vertical and diagonal supports at the wing attach point. Dryrot and delimitation was found on the foreword spar, and the wing spar attach bolt holes were elongated to the point that they could rattle in the holes once loosened. Due to dryrot, one new aileron and one flap were built. The plane flew in and looked great, but looks can be deceiving. After the restoration was finished the owner reported a 10 mile pr. hr increase . 3) One ground loop that took the right gear off and twisted the tail, left me wondering if the trim that was attached to the vertical stablizer didn't have something to do with the directional control. Taking the time to do it right is no accident. If I can help with one small project or hundreds, give me a call. Many hours went into these projects at great cost to the owners, but as you can see, Quality takes time. Questions? call Terry
